If effective teeth care measures are not observed, then gums can swell and cause pain to the patient. To get rid of gum disease, the patient has to consult a dentist for effective diagnose and treatment.

In this article, we have discussed below the symptoms of Gingivitis, causes of Gingivitis and how to get rid of Gingivitis.

Symptoms of Gingivitis

The gum diseasemight not be visible or painful in early stages. However, when it gets worst and becomes a full-blown periodontitis, the symptoms are quite visible, which include:

·      Brushing the teeth causes bleeding in the gums
·      The gums tend to swell and become more red than usual
·      The patient suffers from Halitosis or Bad Breath
·      The gum lines recede
·      Loosening of teeth

The main cause of
Gingivitis or gum disease is the plaque that creates in the mouth due to bacteria. The food particles that trap into the teeth and under the gums create a sticky layer of plaque with the bacteria and saliva in the mouth. If the plaque lasts longer, it becomes toxic and infects the gums and cause them to bleed.

When the teeth are not properly cleaned on daily basis, the plaque layer hardens to form calculus or tartar which can only be removed by dentistry methods. As the days pass by, the contaminated plaque layer grows further and causes inflammation and bleeding gums.

To avoid gum diseases and Gingivitis, you need to remove plaque on daily basis and brush your teeth.
