How Gingivitis is caused?

The gum inflammation or Gingivitis is a periodontal disease caused due to bacterial growth under the gum line. If it is not prevented or properly treated, it can cause gum bleeding, tissue erosion and ultimately teeth loosening.
The periodontitis disease or Gingivitis is caused due to the bacteria in the plaque that builds up in the mouth due to the food particles and cause swelling and bleeding to the gums. In early stages of plaque formation, the gum line causes irritation and inflammation in the gums. If the problem persists, the plaque causes damage to the tissues and bones in the mouth. Spaces create between the gum line and the teeth and debris continue to settle in those spaces, which can cause infection to the gum line. With time, the bacterial growth causes erosion of the gums and tissues and the patient might lose teeth or face complicated mouth infections.
The plaque formation is not really obvious in early stages, since it is painless. But if it persists for a long time, the gums swell and cause irritation. The patient is diagnosed of Gingivitisand gum infection by observing the symptoms of gum disease which include;
·       Bleeding from gums and inflammation in the mouth after brushing

·       Bad breathe even after brushing
